A preview of the kris van assche spring/summer 2012 is now online and well worth taking a look. A limited palette of colour combines with delicate materials to form an elegant collection of transient motion.
‘To evolve, you have to reinvent what you already have’ says bottega veneta‘s creative director thomas maier in a statement regarding the F/W 2011 collection. Evolution of style is a symbolic journey and this particular collection represents a leaner and more direct version of it’s predecessors.
A gallery of the new SS12 collection is also now online.
In terms of attire, statement pieces are often ephemeral. Depth built by the texture and resonance of items considered to be more basic, gives an interminable alternative. A perfect example of this is deftly displayed by dunhill’s voice campaign.
Images released from the oliver spencer ss12 look book are taking the sharp edge off this cold weather. A catwalk video of the collection can be viewed here.
The del toro slippers come in various shapes, sizes and colours, also on offer is a custom service for those who wish to add an emblem or logo of their choice. I prefer the classic black velvet with black trim slippers, perfect for a liberating walk to the local shop.

The third item to fit into the smallest of washbags is a somewhat obvious, yet nonetheless well qualified selection. I’ve sampled many recommended eye treatments but none have come close to polaar‘s now classic icy magic. The metal ball roll-on is designed to massage the skin, providing a cold and revitalising effect with each easy application.
More impressive than this is the long lasting relaxed feel and look not experienced with other eye care products. In my experience this can be improved further dependent on the regularity and order of use. Applying after exfoliation/cleansing followed by a waiting period of a few minutes before proceeding with your usual moisturising routine, appears to give best results.

The addition of a silver handpainted sole, completes the ‘paint’ oxford shoe by maison martin margiela. The inclusion of these brushstrokes adds abstract detail to the trademark minimalism of margiela’s classic oxford design.
The arc’teryx veilance men’s fall 2011 collection has recently been brought to my attention and I’m suitably impressed with it’s focus on simplicity and functionality. Both the sinter coat and scope shirt highlighted above are perfect examples of the minimalistic theme and tech detail the collection presents.
